Vintage Dunn Edwards Color Charts are an excellent source of color inspiration. Many of these crisp, sharp colors have retained their appeal over the decades. Before the days of 1000’s of in-store color chips, consumers used these color charts to tell their painter what color to purchase. Stock colors were for the walls, while the classic whites were used on the ceiling and woodwork. Back then, the painter would keep color charts in their truck and give them to the client during the in-home estimate. Homeowners rarely went to the store to pick colors; the selection process involved two or three different color charts and was quick and easy.
1980’s Interior Paint Colors

Decorators and homeowners loved them because they co-ordinated with so many architectural styles. These early 80’s tones are soothing, elegant and can be used inspire your next room or home decorating refresh. This brochure allowed consumers to pick from gold, orange, lime, pink, blue, green, beige, yellow, brown, gray and white palettes to create unique and striking color combinations. Because of their similar tonality (shaded and muted), the color schemes made with them harmonize easily. A corresponding exterior color chart was also produced at this time.
